Updates for Sunday - January 14

Good morning friends at Community,

I want to update you on few happenings and changes about our Freeway series, leadership commissioning, and appreciation and mortgage burning. Please share and disseminate to everyone you know.

1.  First – a new batch of Freeway Guides are in.  I am overwhelmed by the response.  You can pick up a copy on Sunday – suggested donation $15.  And we’re moving the Freeway lifegroup from Panera’s to Wegman’s starting Wednesday at 6:30 because  . . . breathing room. (Our youth take up one whole side of the restaurant (yeah!) and three tables of adult board gamers means we were squished.)  You can still join us – come early, grab a bite to eat, and take the Freeway with us!

2.  Second – I am making an executive decision to postpone the mortgage burning.  I had planned to hold the ceremony outside, but the temperature (yeah in January) is not cooperating.  Plus we have some key leaders under-the-weather . . . So stay tuned – we may build a whole worship service around this as it should be a celebration – a grand thanks to God and to all who made this possible.

3.  Leadership commissioning and appreciation is still happening.  We’re asking chairs and co-chairs to attend both services to be recognized and prayed for.  We’ll also be thanking former servant-leaders of all stripes, both during worship and with a Coffee Fellowship Party between the services. (9:00ers stay late and 10:45ers come early!)

4. And Freeway is in its second week – Discovery: You Are Stronger than You Think You Are.  It’s gonna be a great Sunday of worship.  Don’t miss it!

Is there an inclement weather policy for the Freeway group?
